As part of our continued growth in motorsport, Arden International Motorsport is delighted to announce its debut into the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup Championship for the 2017 season.
With success in British F4, GP3 Series, Formula Renault 3.5 and GP2 Series, Arden is proud to confirm Dan Ticktum, Zane Goddard and Ghislain Cordeel for the inaugural 2017 FR2.0 season.
The young Red Bull Junior Driver Dan Ticktum started in karts at only 8 years old – winning all 4 British National Championship titles; British MSA Formula Kart Stars, National ABKC Super One, British Open and British Grand Prix.
Aussie Zane Goddard steps up to FR2.0 after a successful and progressive year in British F4 with 4 wins and 8 podiums under his belt. After taking part in winter testing with the team, Goddard showed incredible pace throughout the three day testing.
Zane Goddard: “I am super excited about the season ahead. To be racing with Arden in the Formula Renault 2,0 Eurocup Championship is amazing. Arden has proved time and time again that they can win races in all championships. After my first test with the team, I could straight away see the determination to succeed amongst every member of the team. I have no doubts that by race one of the season we will have a super competitive car and all the tools to achieve big things. I strongly believe that Formula Renault is the perfect next step to improve myself as a driver. The field will be ultra-competitive and also having the opportunity to race at so many big name circuits such as racing at Monaco on the Formula 1 weekend will be so beneficial in years to come.I am now just super eager to get started working with the whole team and to hit the track. I think it’s fair to say the first test couldn't come around soon enough. ”
The young Belgian Ghislain Cordeel completes the line-up, and will be entering in his first full season in Formula Renault 2.0. Cordeel competed in selected races in 2016 in both NEC and Eurocup, along with a very successful winter test program.
Ghislain Cordeel: “Wherever you race on earth, the guidelines will always be in English. Names like pole position.. Flying finish.. Gentleman start your engines.. They all came from that wonderful country called England!! So the best thing that can happen to a real racing driver is to race for an English team! Racing is my life!”
Ben Salter, Team Manager: “As a team we are really looking forward to what will be our inaugural season in Eurocup. I believe that with the lineup we have put together it will enable us to hit the ground running and challenge for race wins from the off. I’m looking forward for the official testing to get under way.”
The Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup Championship will be having a revamp for the next season; the calendar will consist of 10 rounds, which include a support race at the Monaco Grand Prix, Pau Grand Prix, Spa 24 Hours and many more. The race weekend will consist of two 50-minute collective test sessions, two 30-minute qualifying sessions and 25 minute plus a lap races.
