Zak Taylor graduates to British F4 for 2021 with Arden Motorsport

Highly-rated Ginetta Junior racer makes single-seater switch with Banbury-based team.

Arden Motorsport are delighted to welcome Ginetta Junior graduate Zak Taylor to the team to race with them in the 2021 British F4 Championship.

The 17-year-old had a promising debut season in the Ginetta Junior Championship this year, competing for podiums in a highly competitive field right from the start.

After taking a podium at the Donington Park season opener, Zak was a regular front runner and points scorer.

Racing solo with Alastair Rushforth Motorsport, Zak demonstrated his maturity, strong feedback and technical understanding working with the team to develop a competitive setup without the aid of any teammates. These attributes have also impressed Arden during his testing with them.

Before stepping up to Ginetta this year, Zak had been racing successfully at national level in the British junior karting championships, latterly Junior TKM.

Having raced this year on the TOCA package, Zak will already be familiar with all the circuits that the British F4 Championship will be visiting in 2021, and is looking forward to returning to them in an F4 car.

The season is set to kick off at Brands Hatch on the 3rd/4th April and Zak will be aiming to launch his British F4 campaign in a similar fashion to his Ginetta campaign this year.

Garry Horner, Arden Team Principal: “We are delighted that Zak will be racing with Arden in the 2021 British F4 Championship. The experience that Zak has gained in the Ginetta Junior Championship this year will provide him with a strong platform for his transition to F4. Zak has already impressed us with his commitment, professionalism and maturity on and off track and we look forward to enjoying a successful season together.”

Zak Taylor: “I am very excited to be racing with Arden Motorsport in British F4 for the 2021 season. Following a successful test in the car earlier this year, I already feel I am very much part of the team and cannot wait to get preparations underway.”

“Arden has a long and successful tradition in motorsport, and I am looking forward to the challenges that are ahead with such a great team behind me.”

“This is a brilliant opportunity for me to develop my skills during my first season in single seaters and to progress in the future with Arden Motorsport.”

Arden's F4 Team Manager Gary Ward also underlined his delight at securing Taylor's services ahead of a busy winter of testing to prepare for Zak's single-seater debut.

"It's fantastic to have Zak on board for the 2021 British F4 season," said Ward.

"We've been monitoring his progress through the junior categories and we've been very impressed. He's excellent to work with, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together."

Zak is the first of the Red Arrows to be announced for 2021, keep an eye on our website and social media channels to find out who will be joining him!
