Arden Motorsport head to Brands Hatch’s Indy circuit this weekend [14-15 November] aiming to end the 2020 British F4 season in style.
The Banbury-based team make the journey to the iconic 1.19-mile Kent circuit in buoyant mood after another podium finish for Roman Bilinski last time out at Snetterton, along with another brace of Rookie victories for Frederick Lubin.
That keeps the Brit in contention for Rookie Cup title this weekend, with the final Red Arrow – Alex Connor – also aiming to end the campaign on a high note and secure fourth outright in the standings.
Brands Hatch has been a strong hunting ground for all three drivers in the past; August’s meeting on the GP loop earlier in the summer yielded two podiums for Connor, a hat-trick of points finishes for Bilinski and a visit to the Rookie rostrum for Lubin.
It was also the scene of Connor’s maiden pole positions in the Ford-powered category last year, as well as his first outright podium finish.
The efforts of all three could prove crucial, as far as the Teams Cup is concerned, with Arden’s Red Arrows currently hunting down JHR in pursuit of a top-three spot.
Qualifying kicks off the weekend’s competitive action at 11:35, ahead of the opening race at 14:55, available to watch live on itv.com/btcc.
Sunday features the season-concluding double-header of ITV4-televised action, with races set to get underway at 11:15 and 14:27 respectively.
Gary Ward, Arden British F4 Team Manager said:
“It’s always a pleasure to head back to Brands Hatch, it’s a proper driver’s circuit and always throws up some great racing.
“Of course, there’s always time for a little bit of reflection at the end of a busy – and certainly usual – season, but we’ve got to focus on the task at hand first, which is bringing back another set of good results this weekend.
“Alex is a proven quantity around here, he’s shown that in the past. Roman arrives in good form, and Frederick still has a decent shout of winning the Rookie title, so we’re definitely not short on motivation!”
Alex Connor (#27) said:
“I’m really looking forward to the weekend at Brands Hatch. It’s been a good circuit for me in the past, and hopefully we can end the season on a high there this time out.”
Roman Bilinski (#55) said:
“It’s exciting to be heading back to Brands Hatch, but also a shame that it’s the last round of the season!
“We’ve had some really strong results recently, so the aim will be to keep that going and head into the winter on the front foot.”
Frederick Lubin (#78) said:
“I can’t believe how fast this season has gone, but I’m really looking forward to the final round at Brands Hatch this weekend.
“The aim is to end the year on a high and take the maximum from the weekend. I’m feeling confident, so let’s get to it!”
