Arden Motorsport’s Red Arrows aim for final flier at Brands Hatch

Red Arrows head to 2.4-mile Grand Prix layout to conclude domestic season.

Arden Motorsport heads to Brands Hatch, Kent this weekend (23-24 October) aiming to end the F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost season on a high note.

The Banbury-based outfit have enjoyed another silverware-laden campaign in Britain’s FIA Formula 4 series, including three victories and a further nine podium finishes to-date.

The ‘Red Arrows’ make tracks to the historic 2.4-mile Grand Prix configuration of the Kent venue with each of the team’s quartet – Zak Taylor, David Morales, Georgi Dimitrov and Cameron McLeod – looking to end the campaign with a final flourish.

For Taylor, it marks the return to the scene of his debut win in the category back in June, whilst Dimitrov claimed an impressive clean sweep of five points finishes across his two outings in Ginetta Juniors last season.

Morales’ second trip to Brands Hatch will prove to be a useful benchmark, and for McLeod it marks another new circuit, but another opportunity to develop and impress. Their combined efforts will be crucial as Arden look to make a last-round charge into fourth in the Teams’ standings.

Qualifying marks the start of competitive action at 11:00 (BST) on Saturday morning, with two races to follow at 13:45 and 16:50 respectively.

The second of those will be streamed live on itv.com/btcc, with one further, ITV4-televised contest to follow at 13:20 on Sunday to bring down the curtain on another action-packed domestic campaign.

Gary Ward, Arden British F4 Team Manager said:

“It doesn’t seem all that long ago that we were setting up at Thruxton for the season opener, yet here we are on the eve of the finale at Brands Hatch!

“It’s a notoriously difficult circuit to overtake on, given the aerodynamic impact of following another car, so qualifying will be critical for all four drivers.

“It’s been a happy hunting for us in the past, hopefully that will be the case again this weekend.”

Georgi Dimitrov (#23) said:

“It’s another race weekend, and another opportunity for us to keep building towards the front of the field.

“Having won a race in each of the past two events, that’s of course our aim as a minimum, but it’s important not to rest on those laurels and keep pushing.”

Cameron McLeod (#50) said:

“I’m really excited to race at Brands Hatch this weekend. It’s a really enjoyable circuit to drive, particularly out on the GP loop.

“I’ve had a fantastic time racing with Arden Motorsport over the past three events, now the focus is to end the season on a positive note.”

David Morales (#77) said:

“This is the first repeat circuit I’ve visited this season, so I’m looking forward to measuring our progress since June.

“It’s been a rollercoaster ride, but I’m pleased with my development across the season and this weekend we have an opportunity to end on another high note.”

Zak Taylor (#99) said:

“It’s been a long season with plenty of ups and downs, but I’m looking forward to one final weekend at Brands Hatch to round things off.

“Brands Hatch holds many fond memories for me, having taken my debut victory there earlier this season. It’s a circuit I really enjoy, and I know Arden will provide me with a car to attack with.

“If we can qualify well, that should put us in good shape for the weekend ahead.”
