Arden Motorsport are delighted to announce Frederick Lubin will graduate to the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship with the team for the 2021 season.
The Banbury-based team recently announced their expansion into the UK's premier tier of single seater racing and have recently hit the ground running at the start of their winter testing programme.
Lubin, already a familiar face at the team after a successful maiden season in British Formula 4, becomes the team's first confirmed driver, with details of his future team mates to follow in due course.
The latest graduate of the Arden-affiliated Young Racing Driver Academy (YRDA) to switch to single seaters scored six Rookie Cup wins in 2020, along with a further 13 podiums in class en route to the vice-champion honours.
His pace and race craft shone through in the overall stakes too; Lubin would score points from 21 of his 26 starts against some of the series' household names and stormed to a top-ten finish in the final standings.
The next stage in Lubin's partnership with serial race-winners Arden will take both onto the high-profile British GT Championship support package, ensuring he remains firmly in the spotlight with strong trackside audiences and live, free-to-air coverage online at a crucial stage in his rise through the ranks.
The calendar will take in all of the UK's most challenging circuits, such as Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Donington Park, as well as a first overseas excursion for Lubin to the world-famous Spa-Francorchamps.
The 2021 season begins over Easter weekend [03-05 April] on the International loop at Oulton Park, Cheshire.
Garry Horner, Team Principal said:
"Everybody at Arden Motorsport is delighted to extend our partnership with Frederick into the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship next year.
"He's a popular figure with everybody at the team, and the results he brought home last year speak volumes about his development as a driver.
"It's now time for a new challenge, and one the team is looking forward to greatly as we expand into British F3.
"Winter testing so far has been very positive, and there's definitely a good atmosphere building ahead of the new year.
"We look forward to unveiling Frederick's team-mates for next season in due course and continuing the countdown to our debut in the series at Oulton Park in Easter."
Frederick Lubin said:
"I'm really excited to announce the next step in my single seater journey with Arden - the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship.
"We enjoyed a really positive, successful season together in British F4 in 2020, and I'm really looking forward to building on that development in the year ahead.
"The car itself is fantastic, and I'm already feeling very comfortable with the environment we've built up within the team for next season.
"The aim now is to continue that progress over the winter and be ready to hit the ground running in mine - and the teams - debut in April."
