Arden Motorsport targeting more British F4 silverware at Brands Hatch

Red Arrows eyeing further success as they travel to iconic GP circuit

Arden Motorsport’s Red Arrows have their sights set on further silverware as they make a swift return to British F4 action this weekend [08-09 August] at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.

Alex Connor charged to victory with a spectacular drive in the opening race of the 2020 season, progressing from fifth on the grid to take a maiden series victory.

This weekend he hopes to return to the top step at the circuit where he secured a double pole position and his first overall podium in challenging conditions at the end of last season.

The 16-year-old currently sits fifth in the championship standings, and will be aiming to put his experience of the historic Grand Prix circuit to good use.

Frederick Lubin enjoyed an impressive debut British F4 weekend at Donington Park, earning three points finishes with a best result of fourth position in the second contest.

The YRDA-backed racer is looking to repeat the consistency that saw him leave the Leicestershire circuit sitting second in the Rookie Cup standings with a solid points haul.

Roman Bilinski also scored valuable points on his series debut last weekend, displaying strong pace en route to two hard-fought top ten results.

The Ginetta graduate gained plenty of confidence which he is aims to translate into personal-best as the Red Arrows head to Kent.

Competitive action at the iconic 2.4-mile circuit kicks off with qualifying at 09:00 on Saturday, followed by a double-header of races at 14:15 and 17:05 respectively.

The final contest of the weekend will then take place at 14:45 on Sunday, with all the action shown live on ITV4’s free-to-air television coverage.

Arden British F4 Team Manager, Gary Ward:

“We started our 2020 British F4 season in style with Alex’s win last weekend which really showed he’s going to be a force to be reckoned with this year.

“He went really well in qualifying here at the end of last year and then got his first podium, so he’ll be right up there at the sharp end this weekend.

“Frederick and Roman both made amazing progress across their debut weekends at Donington Park. The whole team was so proud of their efforts, it was really encouraging to see.

“We’re excited to add to our silverware collection this weekend!”

Alex Connor (#27) said:

"We had a mixed weekend at Donington but there were many positives to take away from it.

“Getting my first British F4 win was amazing and I felt like I had made a massive improvement in my driving from last year, particularly my overtaking, so I know I can aim for a good result from anywhere on the grid.

“I’m really looking forward to Brands GP this weekend, I got a double pole there last season so I hope that I can repeat that again and we can come away with more wins."

Roman Bilinski (#55) said:

“We had some highs and lows to learn from last weekend, but our times were great so we just need to turn that into higher race finishes at Brands Hatch.

“The GP circuit will be interesting as it’s new to me but my engineer and I have been discussing a lot and I can’t wait to get there!”

Frederick Lubin (#78) said:

“I had really good fun on my first British F4 round, learning a lot and taking most things in my stride.

“I understood a bit more about how a single-seater race works, and managed to have a really solid points haul.

“I’m going into Brands [Hatch] with a lot more confidence and hopefully we’ll pick up some more great points.”
