Arden Motorsport target success on home soil at Silverstone

Red Arrows look to continue fine form at the home of British motorsport.

Arden Motorsport are looking to build on their successful 2020 British F4 campaign with further silverware at their ‘home’ circuit this weekend [26-27 September].

Title contender Alex Connor will be targeting a return to the podium after a difficult round last time out at Thruxton in which harsh luck denied him the results his pace deserved.

The 16-year-old – who already has one victory and a further four podiums to his name so far this season – demonstrated his fighting spirit at Thruxton with a sensational recovery drive from 12th to fourth in the final encounter, setting the fastest lap of the race in the process.

Donington Park race winner Connor, who currently sits a comfortable fifth in the Drivers’ standings, will be hoping to translate that blistering pace into a return to the rostrum this weekend.

Roman Bilinski secured his second podium of the 2020 season with a measured drive at Thruxton, progressing from eighth on the grid to bring home third position at the chequered flag.

Strong results in races one and three saw the Ginetta graduate collect a solid points haul in Hampshire, which he will be hoping to replicate at the similarly high-speed Silverstone circuit this weekend.

Rookie Frederick Lubin replicated his Rookie Cup success from Oulton Park by tallying up a further duo of category victories in the opening pair of races at Thruxton.

Closing the deficit in the class standings to just 32 points, the YRDA-backed racer will be hoping to further cut that gap in the trio of contests at Silverstone.

Competitive action at the Northamptonshire circuit is scheduled to get underway at 11:05 on Saturday with qualifying, followed by the opening race of the weekend that afternoon at 15:50.

Sunday sees a double-header of races to round out the weekend with races two and three set to start at 12:07 and 16:37 respectively, with all the action live on ITV’s free-to-air television coverage.

Arden British F4 Team Manager Gary Ward:

“It was great for Arden Motorsport to be back on the podium at Thruxton after a bit of a break from British F4 action.

“Hopefully we can keep up that momentum heading to our home circuit this weekend and come home with more silverware because the whole team really deserves it.”

Alex Connor (#27):

“Silverstone is such a great place to race, being the home of British motorsport.

“This year we have a great car so I'll be pushing hard for three strong finishes to move back up in the championship."

Roman Bilinski (#55):

“Thruxton was a good weekend with lots of positives to take, I loved the podium which gives confidence for this weekend.

“Silverstone is an iconic track and a brilliant racing track. I’m really excited to see what we can do there.”

Frederick Lubin (#78):

“Thruxton was great for racing, another P4 and two Rookie wins was great for the points.

“I am looking forward to Silverstone, I have been quick there in the past and I enjoy driving it. It should be really good fun and hopefully we will get some more good points.”
