Arden keen to maintain form as British F4 heads to Croft

Red Arrows look to keep momentum strong heading into Croft double-header.

Arden Motorsport are aiming to keep up their strong British F4 momentum this weekend [10-11 October] as the series heads to Croft circuit.

Title contender Alex Connor is hopeful of continuing his fine form after displaying sensational pace at Silverstone last time out, where he secured double pole position for races one and three.

The 16-year-old converted that pole position into a controlled victory in the opening contest at the Northamptonshire circuit, before collecting further silverware with a podium in the final race to cap off a memorable weekend.

Elevating himself back up to fourth in the Drivers’ standings, Connor is eager to add to his podium tally at Croft to bolster his title challenge and further close the gap in the standings to his championship rivals.

After securing his second podium of the 2020 campaign at Thruxton, Roman Bilinski kept up his steady progress with a further three solid points finishes the following weekend at Silverstone.

His consistent results have moved him up to sixth position in the Drivers’ standings, and the Polish racer will be hoping to notch up his third series podium at his favourite circuit on the British F4 calendar this weekend.

Frederick Lubin, who has four Rookie Cup victories to his name so far this season, is
is keen to bounce back after enduring a difficult weekend last time out.

The YRDA-backed racer will be hoping to translate the pace that saw him secure double Rookie pole at Silverstone into more success and further slash the deficit in the battle for class honours.

Competitive action at Croft is scheduled to get underway with qualifying on Saturday morning at 10:25, followed by the opening race at 15:25 that afternoon.

With restricted daylight hours reducing the usual three-race format to a double-header, Sunday’s race at 13:20 will conclude the weekend’s action.

Arden British F4 Team Manager Gary Ward:

“It was a really successful weekend for the team last time out at Silverstone, which was a great feeling at what is effectively our home round.

“It’s also a massive boost for everyone at Arden Motorsport to be back on the top step, and a real reward for all the hard work that has been put in so far this season.

“Hopefully we can carry that momentum forward to Croft, it’s a great circuit for the drivers and we’ve had some encouraging tests here, so we’re feeling confident!”

Alex Connor (#27):

“We had a great weekend at Silverstone, getting another win and moving back up to fourth in the championship.

“The car was mega all weekend, and I’m really looking forward to keeping up this momentum at Croft.”

Roman Bilinski (#55):

“I was quite dubious about how Silverstone was going to be as my test there wasn’t great but the team had the car running well and I came out with good points.

“Croft is my favourite track so I’m really looking forward to this weekend. Lots of fitness training is going on, we’re certainly going to need it for there.”

Frederick Lubin (#78):

“Silverstone was difficult, it was an unfortunate weekend but these things happen in most sports.

“I’m aiming to bounce back at Croft –  I’m looking forward to driving it – I don’t really know how quick we’ll be but I quite enjoyed the past few tests there and I think it will be great fun for racing.”
