This partnership represents BWT’s first involvement in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. The team, which will compete under the new name of BWT Arden, and will field 2017 FIA European Formula 3 title contender Maximilian Günther, as well as 2017 GP3 Series front runner and Honda Junior Driver Nirei Fukuzumi.
Arden International Team Principle and CEO, Garry Horner, says: “We are delighted to announce our new and exciting collaboration with BWT, which will see the Arden team sporting the striking BWT colour scheme in FIA Formula 2 this year. Arden International Motorsport was created at the beginning of 1997 in order to contest the FIA Formula 3000 Championship.
From its origins of racing in the FIA F3000 Championship, Arden has, over the last 10 years expanded its race operations to include the FIA Formula 2, GP3 Series, Formula Renault 3.5 V8 Championship, Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and FIA British F4 Championships.
Additionally, Arden International will from this season, field a pair of Aston Martin Vantage V12s in the Blancpain GT Pro Class under the banner of R-Motorsport.
